We are looking for an intermediate-level Data Warehouse Developer to join our Data/Developer team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who is wanting to contribute to meaningful work and be an integral part of a key data platform modernisation programme of work.

He angitūtanga: About the Role

This role reports to the Team Leader - Data/Development, and you will be working within a cross-functional team of Data Warehouse Engineers and Data Analysts. You will be part of the team developing data pipelines, optimising existing workloads and ensuring reliability of workloads. This role will be responsible for providing data warehouse expertise to support business initiatives and information reporting needs. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Designs, implements and maintains complex data engineering solutions to acquire, prepare and present data.
  • Applies data engineering standards and tools to create and maintain data pipelines and extract, transform and load data.
  • Plans and drives the development of data engineering solutions ensuring that solutions balance functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Monitors application of data standards and architectures including security and compliance.
  • Contributes to organisational policies, standards and guidelines for data engineering.
  • Ensures adherence to technical strategies and architectures.
  • Applies knowledge of software development lifecycle and testing practices.
  • Carries out Unit testing.

He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for:

This is a great opportunity for someone who has some good experience as a Junior Data Warehouse Developer and is looking to move to a more intermediate role or someone who has been working as a Data Warehouse Developer and is looking for their next challenge.

The position holder will have:

  • 1-2+ years of technology experience that includes hands-on software development, data engineering
  • Experience utilising MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and SSASGood understanding of cloud-based data warehousing and ELT/ETL techniques and processes
  • Experience in SQL optimization and performance tuning, and development experience in programming languages like Python
  • Experience using Agile principles and techniques
  • Experience with version control systems like Github and deployment & CI tools

The salary range for this position starts from $87,997 up to $103,526 + 3% KiwiSaver depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
